Last month we completed a major project for Reuters Ltd, the world's leading news agency, with whom we have been working closely, and intensely, since January.
The project involved building a complete compiler and translator system for their bespoke financial rule language. Reuters are defining economic data capture and analysis rules using the new language, which captures essential business knowledge and now forms a key part of their Fundamentals products. The system we delivered provides an end to end solution, from authoring tools with fully contextual error reporting, syntactic analysis and advanced expression optimisation, to high performance output generation and data processing, all made possible by our language framework MLML and its many interfacing technologies.
We were involved from early in the process sounding out client requirements. We then defined the language grammar and established the semantics, before developing a full toolset. The compiler/translator system was delivered both with a classic command line interface, and a fully integrated web application.
We have also been busy this year helping Hangman Studios with their corporate and public web applications, while simultaneously continuing our work for the Institute of Psychoanalysis (IOPA). More news about that will follow in the new year.
